Windarra Pet Spa is a professional pet grooming business, based on Brisbane’s north side.
We specialise in a wide range of grooming services, for small dogs and cats.
We are a small family business, owned and operated by Mary, who has over 11 years grooming experience.
Previously we were a very successful mobile based business, (Paws on Wheels Mobile Grooming) covering the North side of Brisbane, from 2012 – 2020.
In 2020 construction was completed on our salon, we moved in and permanently closed the mobile business. We now operate exclusively from the salon, located in the beautiful suburb of Bunya.
We have a large number of regular clients, many of whom have been with us since the mobile business started in 2012. All of our canine clients have their appointments booked through until the end of the year and we are at full capacity for dogs.
We do have limited spaces for new feline clients. Please enquire for availability. All feline appointments are feline exclusive and there are no dogs present in the salon when we are grooming cats.
Grooming services for cats include nail trims, nail caps, bathing, blow drying, de-shedding treatments and shaving / style clipping options (if appropriate, for compliant cats).
We only use top of the range, high quality grooming products that are approved for use on cats.
We also stock a range of high quality grooming tools and products, a range of healthy treats and chews and frozen BARF diet in a range of flavours.
In 2012 Mary completed her training at the Pet Stylist Academy on the Gold Coast, obtaining a Certificate III in Companion Animal Services (Grooming).
Mary was previously a member of International Professional Groomers (IPG) and is a Certified Salon Professional and a Certified Professional Groomer through them and is currently a member of the National Cat Groomers Association (NCGA).
The NCGI provides education, practical training, written and practical examinations, with the aim of raising the standards of care and service for cat groomers. This enables cat groomers to groom more safely and efficiently whilst providing consistently high quality results. Mary is currently undergoing certification and training through them.
Mary frequently attends seminars, workshops and training days for groomers and is continually updating her knowledge, skills and equipment in order to provide the best possible service for the pets in her care.
We encourage regular grooming appointments, which helps to maintain your pets hygiene needs and prevents overgrown, uncomfortable nails, knots, matted coats and ear and skin infections in some cases. This makes grooming a pleasant experience for your pet that they learn to enjoy as part of their routine. Owners then always have a clean and well maintained pet to share their home.
All cats are naturally oily, some more than others, which tends to become worse with age and certain health conditions. Regular grooming appointments are essential for some cats as they get older, in order to avoid matting – which ensues from excess oil build up and a coat that sheds profusely. Obviously a cat who has been groomed regularly from being a kitten, finds this a lot less stressful than an older cat who has never been groomed before, which is why we encourage owners to bring in kittens within the first 6 months and take advantage of our Introduction to Grooming for Kittens.
We aim to groom your pet in a way that is tailored to the problems you may be having, resulting in a pet that is clean and easy to maintain, depending on the pet’s lifestyle and time available for grooming.
We offer free grooming advice to all our clients to enable them to keep their pet looking its best until the next appointment.
